DBConvert Product & Website Evolution — 25 Years of Growth in Database Migration (2000 → 2025)
Discover DBConvert’s 25-year journey from its first Access2MySQL converter in 2000 to a full SaaS-grade platform with DBConvert Streams in 2025. From file-based databases to cloud-native real-time replication — this is our complete product and website evolution.
For over 25 years, DBConvert has been building tools that simplify database migration and synchronization across multiple platforms. What started in 2000 as a simple Access-to-MySQL converter has grown into a full-featured product family supporting over 30 database engines, both on-premise and cloud-native.
During this journey, not only our products evolved — but also our website, which reflects the growth, complexity, and continuous improvements we've delivered to our customers.
Today, we proudly present our fully redesigned DBConvert.com — built for 2025 and beyond. But first — let’s walk through DBConvert’s 25-year evolution.
2000: First Product Launch — Access2MySQL
The very first DBConvert product, Access2MySQL, was released in 2001 under DMSoft Technologies.
Its purpose was simple: help users convert Microsoft Access databases into MySQL format. At that time, data migration was complicated, highly manual, and underserved by available tools.

🌐 2004: The First Website Appears
The first version of the DBConvert website launched around 2004:
- Access2MySQL Pro
- Access2MySQL Sync
The website was very simple:
- Static HTML pages
- Minimalistic design
- Small product catalog
- Basic product descriptions
At that stage, the mission was focused purely on solving real-world database conversion problems.

🔧 2006: Growing Product Family
By 2006, DBConvert’s toolset expanded well beyond Access and MySQL:
- SQL Server
- PostgreSQL
- Oracle
- SQLite
- FoxPro
- Excel
- Firebird
- IBM DB2
The website also grew to reflect the growing product catalog.

📈 2010: Complex Conversions & Synchronization
In 2010:
- DBSync product line introduced alongside DBConvert.
- Support for more database combinations.
- Bi-directional synchronization features expanded.
- First versions of more advanced GUIs appeared.
- DBForms - migration of MS Access forms to PHP based web pages
The website remained practical, built for detailed technical information.

☁ 2013: Cloud Platforms Emerge
By 2013, cloud providers became part of the supported stack:
- Amazon RDS
- Microsoft Azure SQL
- Heroku integrations
The product line also included:
- Advanced cross-platform data flows
- Richer filtering and synchronization controls

🌎 2015: The First Full Website Redesign
In 2015, DBConvert.com went through its first complete redesign:
- Cleaner website design
- Simplified product listings
- Dedicated online store
- Licensing improvements
- Easier navigation between multiple products
By this stage, DBConvert supported nearly all mainstream RDBMS engines including hybrid cloud options.

📊 2018: Mature Product Family
Between 2015 and 2018, DBConvert’s capabilities kept growing:
- Full cloud integrations (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
- Improved parallelism and synchronization engines
- New specialized tools like DBConvert Studio and JSON-to-SQL converter
The website remained stable but started to show its age.

🌐 2025: Full SaaS-grade Modernization
In 2025, we’ve launched the second full website redesign:
- ✅ Modern SaaS-grade design
- ✅ Fully responsive (desktop & mobile)
- ✅ Interactive Database Visualization Map

- ✅ Simplified product catalog: DBConvert Studio, DBSync, DBConvert Streams
- ✅ Streamlined store & licensing flow
- ✅ Faster load times and navigation
- ✅ Support for 30+ databases and 400+ conversion/sync scenarios

2025: Enter DBConvert Streams — Cloud-Native Platform
In February 2025, we publicly released our newest product:
👉 DBConvert Streams
Streams takes database migration to real-time event-driven level, allowing continuous replication and change data capture (CDC) across:
- ✅ MySQL
- ✅ PostgreSQL
- ✅ Fully cloud-native architecture
- ✅ Docker-native deployments
- ✅ Designed for high-volume continuous data pipelines
This major milestone extends DBConvert beyond one-time migrations into real-time streaming data synchronization — perfect for modern hybrid and multi-cloud environments.
🧭 25 Years of Continuous Product Growth
Throughout our journey, DBConvert has continuously evolved:
- Schema conversion
- Data migration
- Synchronization
- Replication
- Parallelism
- Real-time streaming pipelines
We’ve grown from a single-product utility into a full-fledged data integration platform.
